Devotional Guidance
My beloved child, know this: bitterness is a heavy cloak that we carry, born often from deep wounds and injustice. The Scriptures remind us that sorrow and pain are real, but they should not define our hearts. When we allow bitterness to settle, we trap ourselves in sorrow, forgetting the rest and peace that God offers.
The path forward is to gently remove the evil from our hearts and seek healing. Do not let past hurts dictate your present joy. Instead, turn your gaze toward the Lord, who is the source of true comfort and justice. By releasing resentment and choosing faith over bitterness, we find the freedom to rest, knowing that even in the darkest moments, there is grace waiting for us.
Job 23:17
17. Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.
Nahum 3:19
19. There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?
Ecclesiastes 11:10
10. Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.
Psalms 95:11
11. Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.
Lamentations 1:11-13
11. All her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their pleasant things for meat to relieve the soul: see, O LORD, and consider; for I am become vile. 12. Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
